Stability calculation of near-surface repository for low and intermediate level radioactive waste

Popis: U radu je prikazano osmišljeno konstruktivno rješenje odlagališta koji predstavlja novi koncept pripovršinskog odlagališta povećane sigurnosti za nisko i srednje radioaktivni otpad (NSRAO). Novi koncept odlagališta NSRAO poboljšava i optimizira njegovu funkciju i sigurnost te predstavlja ozbiljno unaprijeđenje u odnosu na postojeća rješenja u svijetu. Novi koncept odlagališta uključuje pokrovni i temeljni zaštitni sustav slojeva čime se osigurava dodatna i konkretna zaštita tla, vode i biote. Analiza stabilnosti provedena je u programskom paketu GeoStudio u programu SLOPE/W, a pomoćni nacrti s dimenzijama za lakše modeliranje u GeoStudiu, napravljeni su u AutoCAD softveru. Analizirano je sveukupno šest modela odlagališta, od čega su tri površinskog tipa i tri ukopanog tipa. Na svakom tipu odlagališta proveden je proračun stabilnosti za tri različita kuta nagiba, 50˚, 45˚ i 40˚. Nakon analize i interpretacije rezultata odabran je najprihvatljiviji model NSRAO s dovoljno trajnom stabilnošću pokosa.
In this thesis it has been devised constructive solution of new concept of near-surface repository for low and intermediate level radioactive waste (LILW). New concept of repository for LILW improves and optimizes it's function and safety and presents serious improvement comparing to existing worldwide solutions. New concept of repository for LILW includes fundamental and cover layer protection system which provide additional and major protection of soil, water and biota. Stability analysis was made in Geostudio sorfware in SLOPE/W software. Auxiliary drafts was made in AutoCAD software. Drafts helped in modeling in software GeoStudio. Six repository models were analyzed. Three of six were surface type of repositories and three were buried type of repositories. Each type of repository model and it's stability were analyzed with three different slope angle (50˚, 45˚, 40˚). After analysis and interpretation of results, the most acceptable model of LILW repostitory was selected. That repository model has suffuciently lasting slope stability.
