| Popis: | This work presents the obtained results of the mechanical properties to compression in leaves of the Agave angustifolia Haw. The methodology initiated with the selection of a completely random design of experiments and factorial adjustment 32x2, later harvested leaves of three different regions from the state. The geometric characteristics of the selected leaves were determined, consecutively cubical test tubes in parallel and perpendicular sense to the fiber was extracted. Immediately and on a par, the tests of moisture content on the basis of official norm Mexican NOM-116-SSA1-1994 and the tests to compression were realized using three different speeds from deformation (2.54, 14, and 25.4mm/min) on the basis of norm ASTM D695. With the data collected during the tests to compression the statistic analysis of variance ANOVA at a level of significance of 5% was realized. The results show that the leaves of the region of Tlacolula have 79% humidity; the leaves of the region of Yautepec have 82% of humidity and the leaves of the region of Ejutla 83.25%.
