Popis: | In this paper, I will explore why Mycenaean political geography during the palatial period (LH IIIA-LH IIIB) still is such a difficult issue. The paper gives an overview of the main ideas about the political configuration in the Late Bronze Age Aegean since the beginning of Mycenaean studies. In particular, I will look at contradictions in the archaeological and historical evidence and at blind spots in research. With the help of insights from the discipline of geography, I propose to include new elements in the discussion, which will be used to begin to explore a different potential scenario. |
