In this paper are prepared 3 series of EPDM rubber samples, where the first and second series contain the same amount of homogeneous EPDM recyclates, and the samples vary with the level of wetting. The third series of the samples contains a heterogeneous mixed recyclate, which differs in the chemical composition (different types of rubber). The influence of a recycled rubber level (recyclates) in the properties of the samples was determined by measuring the mechanical and thermal properties, which was also accompanied by changes in the properties of the samples after the thermo - oxidative ageing at 100 °C within 3 and 7 days. The compatibility of EPDM rubber with homogeneous and heterogeneous recycled materials was carried out by monitoring the morphology by means of SEM analysis. The results have shown that increasing the recycled material level leads to deterioration of mechanical properties. Thermogravimetric analysis has shown that all samples result in their decomposition in two steps. The lowest thermal stability is found in the samples with the highest level of the recycled material and vice versa, the greatest stability appeared in the samples with the smallest level. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis has shown the difference in morphology between the samples which contained the homogeneous recycled material from those which used to have a heterogeneous one.
