Popis: In order to evaluate the functions of tonsils, the following determinations are performed in the same tonsilar tissues for total glutathione, reduced glutathione, oxidized glutathione, total thiol compounds, and thiol compounds except glutathione by the enzyme-spectro-photometrical methods and colorimetrical dithio-bis-nitrobenzoic (DTNB) method, and, total, reduced and oxidized vitamin C by the dinitrophenyl hydrazine (DNP) method, and, the total iron, heme iron and non-heme iron by the bathophenanthroline method and O-phenanthroline method, then the relationships between these three redox substances have been evaluated in the each tonsilar tissues, in the various diseases of palatine tonsils, and the each inflammatory stages of palatine tonsils by the calculation of multiple correlations ; those are including : 1) total glutathione, total vitamin C and non-heme iron, 2) total thiol compounds, total vitamin C and non-heme iron, 3) thiol compounds except glutathione, total vitamin C and non-heme iron, 4) reduced glutathione, reduced vitamin C and non-heme iron 5) total thiol compounds, reduced vitamin C and non-heme iron, 6) thiol compounds except glutathione, reduced vitamin C and non-heme iron, and 7) oxidized glutathione, oxidized vitamin C and non-heme iron. These multiple correlations at the 5% significant level are entirely denied, therefore, these results are seemed to be related to the analytical method of each component of irons in the tissues.
