Popis: English:What subjective experiences have Danish dentists in private practice to propose and implement treatment with crowns and bridges? A mailed questionnaire were completed and returned by 216 private practice dentists for a random sample from Aarhus. Of these, 22% thought that it was uncomfortable to propose crowns and bridges to the patients, 20% thought it was mostly without problems, while 57% had no problems. The dentists also stated that of the patients who came recommended crowning a molar, it is on average only 36% there actually get this treatment. The dentists felt that its justification was that patients had missing economic opportunity or other economic priority. Dentists who thought it was uncomfortable to propose crowns and bridges, gave more than five times more frequent lack of success in getting completed crowning proposals. Discomfort about suggesting treatment with crowns and bridges, or lack of success in getting treatment completed hung mostly with practice type and location. Almost 76% of the dentists felt that it should be possible to learn how to motivate patients for the expensive treatments (eg bridges). More than 90% of the dentists felt the need for a better insurance system to support patients in need for more expensive treatments.
