Popis: | International audience; Many researches in vibratory analysis focused on the gear box failure diagnosis in early stage. When a damage appears, it results in a modulation of the vibration signal. In order to detect the damage, one method consists in estimating the modulating envelope and computing its kurtosis. In a previous study, we solved the problem of the estimation of the modulating envelope signal by using the Kalman estimator. This last approach is based on the minimization of the mean squared error of the estimator and requires that the noise signal is white Gaussian noise with known statistics. In many cases, for real signals, statistics of noise are unknown. During the last decade, H estimator design has been proposed in control engineering science. Such an estimator is adapted to the case of signals with unknown noise statistics. Indeed, it consists in minimizing the worst possible amplification of the estimation error in relation to the modelling errors and additive noise. We use H estimator theory for designing an estimator adapted to the problem of the vibratory analysis. The new approach has been applied using experimental data. The results show that H estimator is an efficient tool which provides better results than those obtained with the Kalman estimator. |
