Popis: | G protein-coupled receptors are integral membrane proteins responsible for signal transduction from outside to inside the cell, and the study of their functional conditions may determine the healthy or pathological state of living organisms. In this work, four different models of increasing complexity for the binding and function of G protein-coupled receptors have been examined. Nonlinear systems of ordinary differential equations have been studied under two different conditions: ligand excess, where the ligand is in high concentrations with respect to the receptor, and ligand depletion, where there is no assumption between the concentrations of ligand and receptor. Analytical solutions have been obtained and analyzed in the ligand excess study case, while a qualitative approach to comprehend the dynamics has been the path chosen to study the ligand depletion scenario. |
