Popis: A new class of organic-inorganic hybrid coatings has been developed by mixing tetramethylorthosilicate (TMOS) and 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MAPTMS) as organofunctional alkoxysilanes precursors and dimethylsilylphosphite (DMTSP) as a phosphorus precursor. The effects of the DMTSP content on the thermal stability of the prepared hybrids were studied by using thermal analysis (TG/DTG). Thermal analyses were also used to determine the optimum curing temperature of the deposited hybrid films. Attenuated total reflectance infrared (ATR-IR) and solid-state 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance were applied to study the composition and functional groups in the coatings after curing and for determining the nature of condensed species in the hybrid coatings after curing. The in vitro biocompatibility of the prepared coatings was determined by fibrinogen protein adsorption on the surfaces. Immunofluorescence tests were also applied to study the morphology of osteoblast cells attached to the hybrid coatings. Finally, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was used to evaluate the corrosion protection of hybrid coatings on Ti6Al4V surfaces during immersion tests in SBF. Addition of DMTSP to TMOS-MAPTMS hybrid dramatically increased the rate of intermolecular condensation and cross-linking, the osteoblast in-vitro biocompatibility and corrosion resistance of the resulting organic-inorganic coatings.
