Popis:	N-phenylmaleimide and N-phenyl-2, 3- dimethylmaleimide have been synthesised and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the second compound proves that condensation of PhNH2 with 2, 3-dimetylmaleic anhydride gives, through a one step mechanism, N-phenyl-2, 3- dimethylmaleimide and not the corresponding isomaleimide.
