Fear of Death, Styles of Upbringing and Locus of Control in Young Adults in Lithuania Purpose: to determine and evaluate links between fear of death, perceived parenting styles and locus of control in Lithuanian young adults. Method: to determine levels of death anxiety Collet-Lester Fear of Death Scale, the Final Version - Lester & Abdel-Khaleck (2003) was used; for perceived parenting styles – EMBU: Egna Minnen Beträffande Uppfostran - Arrindell et al. (1994); for locus of control - A sclae for measuring externality-internality - Bagdonas & Pociūtė (1988). Participants: 84 undergarduate students from two Vilnius universities (52 females; 32 males). Results: Connections between fear of death (death anxiety), perceived parenting styles and locus of control and gender were analysed with determining no significant relationship with regards to locus of controls and death anxiety as well as for locus of control and percieved parenting styles. This proved the idea of mixed findings and need for more research. In coherence with majority of other studies, women were found to be more anxious about death than men. Study attempts to analyse counterintuitive findings about relation between parental rejection and decreased death anxiety. External, internal, ambinternal personality links with parenting styles and death anxiety are discussed.
