| Popis: | Le dossier relatif a la population juive qui s’installe à Lyon à la fin de l’époque moderne a été ouvert à l’occasion des opérations d’archéologie préventive menées a l’hôtel-Dieu, à l’emplacement présumé des cimetières communautaires. Il permet d’étudier l’émergence de cette diaspora urbaine, mais aussi la recherche et la gestion d’un lieu d’inhumation réservé a cette communauté confessionnelle. The preventive archaeological survey and excavation conducted on the site of Lyon’s former Hôtel-Dieu recently unearthed a whole chapter of the history of the Jewish population established in this French city at the end of the early modern period. Presumed sites of community cemeteries are of particular interest, as they allow for a study of both the emergence of the Jewish urban diaspora, and the search and management of a communal burial ground. |
