| Popis: | The thesis focus on the Czech contemporary painter Martin Šárovec (*1977). His art expression oscillates between expressionism and realism. He is interested in painting the human face, which under an influence of postmodern media culture mutates into different and sometimes scary portraits of today's society. He paints grotesque, psychedelic and labile snapshots with emptied icons of contemporary pop-culture. The thesis tries to find out the artist's life and art sources that reflects in his paintings. It also puts his work into the context of the Czech contemporary art. |
