Popis: | Recently a new phenomenon of long-lasting position oscillations of hydrogen gas bubbles produced via electrolysis at horizontally installed microelectrodes has been found. The bubbles grow until their detachment when buoyancy exceeds the retarding forces. The phenomenon itself consists in multiple bubble returns to the electrode. It was found that the mother bubble sits on and is fed by a carpet of small bubbles. The dynamics of the growing bubble was systematically studied and found to be strongly dependent on the cathodic potential and electrolyte concentration. |
