In this work the authors present two sites that will help understand the processes that drive gully formation in the uplands of northern Mississippi and how these processes are affected by anthropomorphic influences. The sites are Owl Creek Indian Mound Site and Charley Copper Site. The work reported in this paper was financially supported by the German Ressarch Foundation (DO 1025/2-2).
