[ABSTRACT] A brief review of the basic developments in retrievals of sea surface temperature (SST) from satellite IR measurements is presented first. Then, using a semi-empirical/theoretical method, a nonlinear correction scheme for SST retrievals in cirrus cloud atmospheres is developed. |
