Popis: It has been known for some time that citizens‘ attitudes towards political authorities are positively related to justice perceptions of those political authorities. But what is the relationship between perceived injustice of political authorities and citizens‘ moral decisions in macro level? This study is focused on the examination of the relationship between perceived injustice of political authorities and moral reasoning, exploring whether Lithuanian citizens who perceive the political institutions and their officials as unjust are more likely to approve of illegal actions of others and whether injustice is the main criteria used to justify the approval. 56 young Lithuanian adults participated in the study (aged 18-30; 17 men and 39 women). We developed a moral reasoning instrument, which is based on DIT (Defining Issues Test) by Rest and colleagues (1999). Results of current study suggest that the more participants perceived Lithuanian government as unjust, the more likely they were to agree with illegal actions of moral dilemmas’ characters. Yet we did not manage to find the correlation between injustice questions of the instrument and perceived injustice of Lithuanian government as well as the correlation between injustice questions and agreement with dilemma’s characters actions.
