The study area is included in Palakka area Barru District of South Sulawesi province. The purpose of this study is to conduct Measuring Section in order to find out information about the small benthic foraminifera and Paleobathymetry of depositional environment of Marl Tonasa Formation in Palakka area. Based on the results of research on both of the Measuring Section, which is supported by microscopic observation, and the obtained depositional environments of each of the layers in Camming River section is Middle Neritic zone ??? Outer Neritic with a depth is 30,48 to 182.88 m and Palakka River section is Middle Neritic zone - Outer Neritic at a depth is 30,48-182, 88 M. The cycle of Paleoenvironment marl unit in Camming River that occured three cycles : Outer Neritic ??? Middle Neritic, Middle Neritic ??? Outer Neritic and Outer Neritic ??? Middle Neritic. Palakka River that is occurred in six cycles, they are Middle Neritic ??? Outher Neritic, Outer Neritic ??? Middle Neritic, Middle Neritic ??? Outer Neritic, Outer Neritic ??? Middle Neritic, Middle Neritic - Outer Neritic, Outer Neritic ??? Middle Neritic. Based on analysis of planktonic foraminifera are found in the study area, could determine the age of the lithology in Camming River is Upper part of the Lower Eocene to Middle part of Middle Eocene. While the age of the Palakka River is Upper part of the Lower Eocene to Lower part of the Upper Eocene. |
