Croatian energy system is heavily dependent on energy imports, and by joining the European Union has taken an obligation to implement renewable energy resources as well as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the behavior of energy system of the Republic of Croatia when installing geothermal power plants. This paper analyzes four scenarios that integrate the geothermal power plants through the analysis of primary energy supply, share of renewable energy sources in final electricity consumption, and CO2 emissions regarding the base scenario for the year 2020. Scenarios are carried out in the EnergyPLAN program and analyzed in Excel. Levelized cost of energy analysis was made on the example of a geothermal power plant project. Finally, the sensitivity analysis was carried out for each of the input parameters. |
