Popis: | Cutaneous larval migration (CLM) is a condition of high incidence in tropical countries, caused by the movement of parasite larvae through the epidermis. The similarities of the skin lesions to those described in other diseases favor the errors in the clinical diagnosis while inadequacies in the therapeutic management of patients are reported. This bibliographic checking was carried out in order to gather information on CLM for its critical analysis and didactic presentation. It followed a clinical and differential approach on the skin lesions; it also assessed the effectiveness of an antiparasitic treatment. It was concluded that CLM is a topic widely discussed in the literature published in several countries focused mainly on the clinical and therapeutic experiences, but there is lack of resources on the clinical and epidemiological aspects that facilitate the differential diagnosis. Besides, there are contradictions concerning the definition and etiology of the condition. |
