Popis: | One of the oldest objects in the archaeological collection from Ghent University is an urn from the region of Tongerlo. The urn belongs to the Late Bronze Age as has been proven by the typochronological study as well as the radiocarbon date on a cremated bone. The osteological study has shown that the remains of two persons a young juvenile and an adult were deposited in the urn. This phenomenon is not unknown in other regional urnfield cemeteries, although until now mostly neonates together with women have been identified. |
