Total catches of Haddock (Melanogramus aeglefinus), Pollack (Pollachius pollachius), Norway lobster (Nephrops norvergicus) and Whiting (Merlangius merlangius) recorded by observers on board the Spanish bottom trawlers operating in the Celtic Sea Ecoregion (mainly Subarea VII) are presented. Time series provide information on average weights retained and discarded by trip and year for haddock, whiting and pollack, and weights retained and discarded by Functional Unit (FU) and year for norway lobster. Distributions of total sizes captured are also presented. This is not a working paper to present estimates of discards (these data are presented annually to this WGCSE). The aim of this study is to show the evolution of the Spanish catches recorded by scientific observers of these species for the period covered by the EU Sampling Programme (DCR/DCF): 2003-2016. |
