A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF SLANG ON THE EVOLUTION OF LANGUAGE OF THE BABY BOOMER, X, Y AND Z GENERATIONS SUMMARY The main idea of this work is the analysis of the slang words usage in four different generations, that includes the language of Baby Boomer generation, Generation X, Y and Z. The aim of this thesis is to compare the slang usage in previously mentioned generations. To reach the aim, following objectives were completed: 1. Provide the information on slang meaning and its formation categories; 2. Establish the differences between chosen generations; 3. Collect and analyse slang words and slag phrases that were used by the members of different generations; 4. Define the most productive slang formation category. The theoretical part of this work consists of: the explanation of terminology, such as: slang, jargon, generation ect. Provide the differences between chosen generations such as: time phrame, language qualities, the sources of slang creation. The empirical part of this analysis consists of slang words and slag phrases analysis. The analysis consists of slang origin, its meaning and formation category. |
