VITAMIN INTAKE AMONG STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF RIJEKA

Popis: Vitamini su organske molekule neophodne organizmu za rast, razvoj i održavanje cjelokupnog organizma, a njihov nedovoljan unos je veliki javnozdravstveni problem današnjice. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 1104 studenta sa 4 fakulteta koja pripadaju Sveučilištu u Rijeci. Podaci su dobiveni putem ankete koja se provodila od siječnja do ožujka 2019. godine, a sudjelovanje je bilo dobrovoljno i anonimno. Analiza podataka obavljena je u programu Excel, a korišteni su desktiptivna statistika i t-test. Sudjelovalo je 317 muškaraca i 787 žena, a muškarci su imali veću tjelesnu težinu i visinu nego žene. Dobiveni podaci ukazuju da muškarci unose veće količine vitamina nego žene. Sveukupno, studenti unose više vitamina nego što je to određeno preporukama, a najviše unose vitamian B1. Studenti Medicinskog fakulteta unose više vitamina B6 od studenata ostalih fakulteta
Vitamins are organic molecules which are necessary for the growth, development and maintenance the whole organism, and their insufficient intake is a major public health problem today. 1104 students from 4 faculties belonging to the University of Rijeka participated in this research. The data was obtained through a survey conducted from January to March 2019, and participation was voluntary and anonymous. Data analysis was performed in Excel, and descriptive statistics and t-test were used. 317 men and 787 women participated, and men had higher body weight and height than women. The data obtained indicate that men ingest higher amounts of vitamins than women. Overall, students ingest more vitamins than recommended, with vitamin B1 the most. Medical students take more vitamin B6 than other students.
