By the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia made on 13 March 2020, which occurred due to the pandemic of the new infectious coronavirus COVID-19, the transition from teaching in classrooms to distance learning in all primary and secondary schools and higher education institutions began. The research problem is defined by the question of how educational work was performed in distance learning. The research goal was to investigate the methodological design of distance learning classes organized on HRT 3 channel. To achieve this goal, a combined methodology was selected, which included quantitative and qualitative analysis and case study methods. Data collection techniques consisted of a semi-structured interview with a teacher who conducted online classes on public television and observations of online science and social studies classes during ten working days. The collected data related to the date of observation, the duration of the science and social studies lesson and the lesson phase, creativity of homework assignments if there were any, teaching methods, layout and application of PowerPoint presentation, methodical teaching forms, use of teaching aids and sources of knowledge. The observation also included determining the correlations of the science and social studies lesson with other class lessons and identification of existing misconceptions. The results show that in all classes during distance learning, the dominating method was that of oral presentation, which was used in all science and social studies classes. Several different sources of knowledge were used during distance learning. PPT presentation was the most common, and it was used as a dominant source of knowledge in all grades from 1st to 4th, as well as in each class during distance learning. Wordwall quiz was also used in all classes. The results show that the correlation was mostly with Croatian language lessons. Misconceptions and teachers ' mistakes were noticed in all of the classes during distance learning.
