An intention of this text is to discuss barycentric coordinates. In the beginning, the reader is informed about the historical background and development of this type of coordinates, which are the option to the Cartesian coordinates. The introduction is devoted to the systems of evaluated points, which Archimedes was operating with. The systems of evaluated points enable derivation of some of basic known principles valid in triangles surprisingly easily. The next part of the work is focused on the barycenric coordinates. The main relations and objects, which usually appear in analytic geometry, are defined. In the end, some of the advantages of use of this coordinates are shown.
