| Popis: | The Biennial of Chilean Architecture emerges as a need to communicate the work of the architectural discipline and open the disciplinary debate to the society. The issues that have been debated during 40 years of biennials are recognized in five categories: City, Housing, Identity, Future and Environment and are related to the historical context of the country, the international context of architecture, the emerging issues in the society and professional challenges. In greater or lesser coherence with the theme, the architectural communication formats -Exhibition, National and International Meetings with distinguished guests, Seminars, Contests with the participation of the Schools of Architecture-, in these 40 years have evolved as well asthe dialogical construction between the architectural discipline and Chilean society. The purpose of this article is to make a criticalreview of the themes of the biennials, in order to see how the problems of the country are reflected and how they affect the citizenship. |
