Popis: | The bacterium Bacillus cereus is able to survive and grow in a high diversity of environments, including foods, such as milk and pasta. Consequently, B. cereus can cause foodborne illnesses and food spoilage. During its time in food B. cereus encounters many changes in its environment, as the food is for instance heated and eaten. In order to cope with these changes in its environment B. cereus is able to switch on different sets of genes. This so-called gene regulation is regulated by an array of regulators. The performed research expands the understanding of the role of these regulators in fine tuning of gene regulation in response to changing environment in food. |
