Popis:	Septum necrosis following CPAP treatment of preterm infantThis case describes the complications of intensive respiratory support in a preterm infant. During two months of rigorous nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy with intermittent use of CPAP-mask and -prongs, an ulcer in the nasal mucus membrane developed into septum necrosis. Preterm infants are in high risk of needing long-term respiratory support, why it is important to bear in mind that binasal CPAP-prongs have proved to be more effective than mononasal therapy, and that CPAP-prongs and -mask have different sites of injury.
