Popis: | The increasing air traffic that Europe is experiencing makes necessary a series of changes in the technologies and procedures used for its management. One of these technologies that are transforming the world of aviation is the Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B). This enables the possibility of sharing in real time accurate information of the state of a flight, which is useful in a lot of applications, such as an improvement in the efficiency of air traffic control or increasing situational awareness of pilots. In addition to be so useful in real-time, the storage of ADS-B data enables flight trajectories analysis in each and every one of its dimensions. Carrying out analysis of huge traffic samples in the Directorate of Pan-European Single Sky (DPS/POL) of EUROCONTROL, many problems and particularities were detected, some of them were caused by ADS-B receiver network limitations and others because of errors in the analysis algorithm and software. In order to validate following studies that will be performed with this technique, these problems were solved or at least mitigated as far as possible. This will lead to the realization of a Pan-European study about the impact of continuous descent and climb operations (CDO and CCO) in the environment. |
