Popis: | The silver sculpture of the Virgen del Cabildo Catedralicio de Orihuela is a unique piece of silverwork masterfully executed by Miguel de Vera, the goldsmith of the highest artistic quality during the 16th century in the Southeast of Spain. Throughout the Modern Age, this image was the protagonist of different ceremonial practices, both ordinary and extraordinary, thanks to its design that allowed it to be adapted to different iconographies of the Virgin and, therefore, its service throughout the liturgical year in the Cathedral of Orihuela. |
