Popis: According to Lacan, humans are always in a state of lack, and only desire can fulfill this lack. Desire is basically a desire for identity ownership. Existentially humans are controlled by various feelings of loss and deficiency. Human life is like a search for fulfillment of something that is lacking. This deficiency in existential meaning will never be full or fulfilled. Lacan's psychoanalytic study is used to reveal the personality of the character Luh Sekar in the novel Tarian Bumi by Oka Rusmini. Whether he still bears the name Luh Sekar, or has the title Jero Kenanga, Luh Sekar's character continues to show attitudes and behaviors that continue to describe efforts to fulfill his desires. If analyzed using Lacan's psychoanalysis, the personality of the characters Luh Sekar or Jero Kenanga can be traced starting from the imaginary, symbolic and real order. This is supported by the data in the novel which depicts the rejection of identity as a Sudra by Luh Sekar's character by justifying all means to fulfill his desires and sense of deficiency.
