Popis: The paper seeks to explore the preservation of vhavenda traditional children’s games through digitisation. It is noted that with the advent of modernisation, traditional children’s games seem less practised by the majority of children because of the dynamic change of culture, and hence, ways of doing things. The paper’s overall objectives were to assess the relevance of traditional game’s digitisation and to explore the prospects of traditional games digitisation in the current epoch. The paper was founded on the modernisation and digitisation theory to attain its findings. This study utilised a qualitative research design. To effectively document the exploration of traditional children’s games, University of Venda’s Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) students, academics, parents, children and cultural heritage organisations were engaged. The findings noted that digitising the traditional games will be good for knowledge management despite the fact that some of the unique cultural features will be lost on the way. The paper recommended that multidisciplinary faculties be combined and address how best traditional children games should be effectively digitized. Keywords: culture, cultural heritage, digitisation, preservation, traditional game
