Popis: In patients with a psoriatic diathesis, particulalry adults, seborrheic dermatitis is said to evolve into psoriasis. The term sebopsoriasis is sometimes used for these overlapping conditions. It should be used with caution because psoriasis, especially for the scalp, is clinically nd histopathologically almost indistinguishable from seborrheic dermatitis. Psoriatic epidermal hyperplasia is seen in both diseases, but acanthosis is in psoriasis in most cases regular, and parakeratosis and Munroos microapsces are more frequent. Spongiosis and crusts are more frequent in seborrheic dermatitis. Follicular parakeratosis and perifollicular inflammatory infiltrate are not reliable criteria for differentiation between psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis.
