Popis: Considering that international tourism continues to grow, while islands searching for alternative forms of economic development – tourism is almost inevitable. Tourism in islands should be carefully planned and integrated into the local system. This suggests that islands need to act simultaneously on two fronts to maximize benefits and minimize environmental, economic, and sociocultural costs. In this paper will be analyzed the islands of the Sibenik archipelago. The area of the City of Šibenik represents the contact area of Central and Northern Dalmatia. Šibenik islands are among the most indented on the Croatian coast, and consist of six larger islands (Krapanj, Zlarin, Obrnjan, Kaprije, Kakan and Žirje), and 24 smaller islets. The traditionally built islands and the beautiful landscapes on the one hand, and the unspoiled sea on the other, make it a desirable destination. Considering the strategic document “Tourism Developing Strategy Of Innovative Tourism In The City Of Šibenik” (Document) to achieve sustainable development of tourism in Šibenik, Document provides four main area of innovative tourism development. One of those areas include Šibenik Islands (Zone IV.). The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors of tourism offer in Sibenik Islands as a response to mass tourism.
