On most of railway networks for train control purposes there are applied several different generations of interlocking systems. Namely, results of recent research show that, although dwindling, legacy interlocking systems still play an important part in the current European railway network [1]. There are in use interlocking devices of various generations, which comply different methods of train control where some of them have a bad impact on capacity of railway infrastructure and traffic safety [2, 3]. In this paper, data collected from three railway stations with different methods of train control are processed to perform the comparative analysis of train control methods in railway stations of Popovača, Sunja and Hrvatska Dubica in order to draw conclusions related to the influence of the automation of train route setting functions on the efficiency of railway traffic for the purpose of the possible improvement of traffic safety and capacity of railway infrastructure. |
