Recently, requirements for energy generation, especially from renewable sources are increasing yearly. In order to meet the needs for energy and to protect the environment, obviously, is seen a good way to use hydro turbine where a stream exist. This is due to the simplicity, low price and there are many places, which have a good hydro potential to install such turbines. On the other hand, the hydro turbines produce power all the time until the water flows through turbines. In this paper is presented the reconstruction of the micro Pelton hydro turbine, which was produced around 50 years ago in Swiss with an output power of 86 kVA. The same turbine was installed in 2013 in Restaurant "Trofta e Junikut" in Junik, Kosovo, but with different working conditions. During its functional working, there are appeared many problems. In order to use it, many interventions were made by using corrective voltage, transformers for increasing voltage, centrifugal regulator, penstock with different diameters, different water intake levels, but without success. The best working results are achieved only after scientific treatment of this problem, where micro Pelton hydro turbine is adapted for current conditions of stream flow and water head. There is made completely redesigning of the project starting from the dimension of the turbine runner, house of turbine, generator and electronic load controller. These changes have been made with the aim to obtain maximum power generated, constant voltage and frequency despite changing power consumption. Furthermore, in this paper is elaborated scientific approach used during the reconstruction of micro Pelton hydro turbine in the restaurant "Trofta e Junikut" in Kosovo. |
