The change of breaking force and elongation at break of yarn in the warp and weft direction throughout the processes of fabric manufacturing, density and thickness of grey and finished fabric was analyzed. The yarn was examined before weaving preparation (I), separated from grey fabric (II) and separated from finished fabric (III). Seven fabrics made of wool and blends with polyester (PES) and linen and Lycra were analyzed. Fabrics were woven in different weaves, in different densities and yarn counts on a Sulzer G6200 weaving machine. The result of the course of changes in physico-mechanical properties of the yarn throughout processing steps was found out. The greatest change of breaking force was reflected in the fabric woven in plain weave and in fabrics of greater density. The results of breaking forces of warp and weft yarns stand in a very good correlation to fabric deformations. A change of breaking forces of warp and weft yarns were observed during chemical treatments. A longer finishing process at higher temperatures and longer dwelling time in chemicals resulted in greater thread deformations. Samples from pure wool were more sensitive. |
