PROPERTIES OF FLY ASH GENERATED FROM BIOMASS COMBUSTION FACILITY

Popis: In this paper, characterization of fly ash generated from mixed wood biomass combustion facility in Udbina, Croatia was performed. Following properties of collected fly ash were determined: chemical analysis (main, minor and trace elements), proximate and ultimate analysis, phase composition, morphology and particle size distribution. Chemical composition was determined by means of energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Phase composition and morphology has been carried out by means of qualitative X-ray diffraction and SEM-EDS analysis, respectively. The mechanical or sieve analysis is performed to determine the particle size distribution of flay ash.
