Understanding of organizational culture in the context of construction industry is not sufficient yet. Therefore, the research question of this study has been: what is a dominant culture profile of companies within the context of the Croatian construction industry. The research has been conducted using both primary and secundary data sources: after an extensive literature review, research has been continued using Cameron and Quinn's Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument over the data set collected from 108 respondents working in construction companies in Croatia. The findings show that the Croatian construction industry has been dominated by the hierarchy culture. In addition, the analysis indicates the clan type being the dominantly preferred organizational profile. This paper is the result of the first research phase so for the next phase it suggests comparative research concerning culture profiles of relevant construction industry subcategories (core business, size, regional orientation and ownership subcategories). |
