Services orchestration platforms which allow for the implementation of scalable, distributed and containerized multi-agent systems are gaining momentum. Lots of contemporary computer games, especially massively multi-player on-line (MMO) games and game streaming platforms are such systems and can have major benefits in using orchestration platforms. In order for a game to use such a platform its game engine has to have the necessary prerequisites including an application programming interface (API) which we analyze in this paper. Additionally, we provide four proof-of-concept implementations of such APIs in four different game development platforms (namely Godot, RPG Maker, Ren’Py and Blender Game Engine). |
