Popis: This paper focuses on FEM based simulation of damping of hand – held motor trimmer handles vibration with objective to estimate where to place and how massive should be damping weights to maximally reduce amplitude on handles while adding minimum of total weight. The vibration source (excitation) is the gasoline two-stroke one-cylinder engine whose free (unbalanced) inertial force and moment have been approximated as harmonic function in time. Only the steady-state solution for the forced vibrations has been considered, since the transition phase is relatively short. Obtained FEM simulation results were validated by implementation of real-time Borg exertion scale. The results show that the optimal place for weights is just beneath the plastic ergonomically designed parts of handles. In such a way the vibration amplitude has been reduced under the limit level for longer operating time (30 min.)
