Popis: Insurance companies underwrite the risk of occurrence of an insured event from an insured person by arranging an insurance policy and charging a gross premium. The primary insurance business activities are sales of insurance policies, claims settlements from the obligations undertaken in insurance, and monetary assets investment. In the insurance business, activity costs are created, which, depending on whether they are created within or outside the sales process, are divided into acquisition costs and administrative costs. The insurance market shows collectively all the realized values of insurance companies operating in the country. Realized values in the market are obtained, and an analysis of the insurance market predicts movement trends. The information obtained by the market analysis facilitates timely adaptation of insurance company business activity to market demands. This research encompasses the Republic of Croatia life insurance market in the segments of claims expenses, costs of acquisition, insurance policies, and gross premiums as a central focus in the insurance company business. The research aimed to test and model the connection between cost categories and gross premiums. In this way, to describe and obtain information about the exclusivity of the Republic of Croatia life insurance market and to shape it, using scientific and research models. Apart from proving the Republic of Croatia life insurance market cost characteristics, application of the said models also enables collection of new prediction accounting information for life insurance business planning and management purposes.
