Popis: Traditionally, logic defines a sound argument as a (deductively) valid argument with true premises. We discuss sound inferences of a different sort, i.e. inferences based, not on the meaning of words or sentences, but on non-verbal sounds. The study of visual argument and multimodality is pushing argumentation theory in a broader direction. We push in the same direction by offering an account of inferences which are based on sounds other than words.
