Popis: Identification of black spots and hazardous locations in road traffic is one of the most effective ways to reduce the number of traffic accident. A prerequisite for the identification of black spots and hazardous locations is a systematic collection of data about traffic accidents. Among the most important phases in management of the black spots and hazardous locations, in addition to the analysis and treatment, separates the identification of black spots and hazardous locations, which includes a series of procedures to detect such locations on the road network. The countries which have developed Black spot management system a long time ago, today have a very high level of traffic safety. Methodology for the identification black spots range from simple marking of dangerous locations to more sophisticated techniques used to assess the expected number of accidents and determines the potential for improving traffic safety. This paper will show how Black spot management works on state roads and the Croatian experience in the identification of black spots and hazardous locations on road network.
