Popis: Introduction: Nursing professionals face a myriad of stressors in their workplaces on a quotidian basis, and prolonged exposure to them can result in the burnout syndrome. The latter is a major problem that affects both the individual and his/her work environment. Moreover, the burnout syndrome impairs the quality of nursing care and, in turn, reduces patient safety. Methods: This quantitative study utilized the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory as a survey instrument. Convenient sampling technique was employed, which resulted in a total sample of 89 nursing students that are concomitantly employed as nurses in the health care institutions.
