Popis: The aim is to analyse features of communicative functions and means in children with early brain lesions in the stage of illocutionary communication, and compare those with features of typically developing children. It is assumed that transition from prelingustic to linguistic communication in children with perinatal brain lesions is not only prolonged, but also different from typically developing children. The research includes two groups of participants in the age of 18 till 36 months: (1) children with perinatal brain lesions (N=11) and children with typical development (N=5). Main points of analysis are the age when the child stages the illocutionary communication and their communicative functions and means. The mental development is assessed with Bayley Scales of Infant Development. The interaction in the parent-child play sessions was video-typed and analysed. Children with early brain lesions show greater variability in the onset of illocutionary stage and in the period of it´s duration. The results point to slower development of communicative functions, rare episodes of initiating communication, and simple means of communication. As for the communicative behaviours are concerned, those are mainly answers on mother´s demands, and less often directing mother´s attention to the object of their interest. The results speak in favour of some differences in the transition from prelinguistic to linguistic phase in the children with perinatal brain lesions compared to children with no neurodevelopmental risk. The results also emphasise a need for early intervention oriented to communicative development of children with perinatal brain lesions.
