Konstruktal (AlMg4, 5Mg1 - 7020) is wrought thermally hardened aluminium alloy, which when in hardened condition reaches the strength of low carbon steel. Due to proper mechanical properties and low density, it is mostly used in aircraft industry and in bearing structures. The literature conceptions about the problems that accur during the process of welding this alloy are given in this article. The results of the mechanical and metallographical testing of welded experimental specimens are given as well. With weldability investigation of alloy konstruktal for different welding processes, authors wish to give contribution to weldability knowledge base of wrought thermally hardened aluminium alloys. |
