This paper presents the methodology used for the calculation of heat consumption costs which represent a part of the total life cycle costs of buildings. The provided overview of life cycle costs emphasises operational costs. Research has shown that in the scope of the observed life cycle of a building, future costs of buildings, i.e., costs created after a building has been built and its operation starts, are regularly higher than the initial or capital costs for the construction of the building. A significant part of future costs of a building refers to operational costs, which include the costs of energy used for space heating. The described calculation methodology for the required energy used for space heating and the energy costs is based on standards and it requires a significant amount of data. To calculate the heating energy costs more quickly and simply, it is necessary to develop models that use only several parameters to sufficiently accurately estimate the heating energy demands and the heating energy costs of buildings. |
