In the paper, the main theoretical and methodological approach of the doctoral thesis ‘Impact of quality improvement instruments on organizational learning in administrative organizations’ is presented. The basic research hypotheses are that organizations which do apply quality improvement instruments have more chance for organizational learning in comparison with organizations which do not apply those instruments (H1) and that complexity degree of quality improvement instruments influences the type of organizational learning (H2). Theoretically, the thesis is based on the complementary application of several basic approaches developed within the organization theory, namely contingency theory, decision making theory, cultural and cybernetic approach in organization theory and theory of self-referential and autopoietic systems. Research methodology which is going to be applied, with special focus on the selection of the approach and research methods as well as case selection, is presented in the paper. |
